Psychometric Development and Validation of LGBTQIA+ Prejudice Scale

This study seeks to develop a scale to measure prejudice towards LGBTQIA+ individuals. In the past, few scales have included trans individuals, and even fewer asexuals. Because of this, it can be difficult to conduct research on this entire population, not just lesbians, gay men, and bisexuals.  As head researcher on this project, I developed the research question and hypothesis, and am in the process of conducting a literature review. I created and submitted a grant proposal for recruitment funds, and was awarded a $500 CloudResearch Grant. I designed the study and ran pilot test recruitment and analysis to provide feedback on the psychometric test before main recruitment. I conducted data analysis including confirmatory factor analysis, and am currently writing up the manuscript for publication. Qualtrics and CloudResearch were used for data collection, and R was used for data analysis and psychometric analysis. Funding for this project was awarded by Psi Chi and Southern Virginia University.
